Hiking & national parks

Korea is mostly mountains, and hiking is a national pastime. Trails are well marked, and many start from a subway or bus stop.

  • Some trails close for fire prevention in spring and autumn, so check before you go.
  • Hallasan’s summit trails on Jeju need an advance reservation.
