Palaces & heritage

Seoul has five Joseon-era royal palaces, and Gyeongju is full of sites from the Silla kingdom. Many are UNESCO World Heritage sites.

  • Each palace closes one day a week, so check before you go.
  • Entry to the royal palaces is free if you wear hanbok (traditional Korean clothes).
